Tout le pays est encore très marqué par cette catastrophe. C’est vrai qu’il y a que 4 ans et demi que cela c’est passé, un samedi midi.
The whole country is still very marked by this catastrophe. It’s true that it’s only been 4 and a half years since it happened on a Saturday afternoon.
8,5 sur l’échelle de Richter et cela a duré 5 minutes à deux reprises.
8.5 on the Richter scale and it lasted 5 minutes twice.

Work continues everywhere, a lot has still to be rebuilt. The heaps of sand are a part of the landscape.

Beaucoup nous ont témoigné et vraiment pensé que cela était leur dernier jour. Beaucoup ont perdu leur maison.
Many have testified to us and truly thought it was their last day.
Many have lost their homes.
Nos hôtes à Katmandou ont passé un mois à dormir dans la cour de l’école en face de chez eux avec les autres personnes de leur quartier. Ils avaient tous trop peur de rentrer dans leurs maisons……en pensant que cela aller revenir.
Our hosts in Kathmandu spent a month sleeping in the schoolyard across from their house with the others in their neighborhood. They was all too afraid to go into their homes ……thinking it will come back.
Buildings need reinforcements …..
Certains ont vendu leurs biens, d’autres ont fait la fête en pensant que c’était la fin….
Some sold their goods, others celebrated with the thought that it was the end …
En tout cas cela a créé des liens forts entre les gens……
In any case it created a strong bond between people ……
